DESKTOP / PRODUCTIVITY / DEVELOPER TOOLS

One workspace for terminal sessions, AI, research and ideas

Fox OS is a desktop application for Mac and Windows that combines a real terminal, an AI command center, read-only crypto monitoring, notes, tasks, journals, web tabs and developer tools in one local working system.

Why Fox OS was created

Why Fox OS was created

Fox OS reduces switching between a terminal, prompt library, notes, market screens and small utilities. Instead of a collection of disconnected windows, users get one working context with local storage and direct access to their main actions.

Who the system serves

The product is designed for developers, AI practitioners, researchers and crypto-tool users who need a terminal and working context side by side. It supports local CLIs, technical notes, research, tasks and market observation without built-in trading.

01

Challenge

Combine a real system terminal with a useful desktop workspace while keeping the product commercially usable, local and predictable: no hidden commands, wallets, trading actions or unrestricted embedded browsing.

02

Solution

We built a Tauri application with a React interface and Rust PTY backend. Around the terminal, Fox OS provides a local workspace, AI command library, read-only market module, HTTPS web tabs, safe developer utilities and validated data import and export.

Capabilities

Product capabilities

The capabilities support one operating scenario and share common state, control and analytics.

01

Real shell sessions

Fox OS creates, resizes and closes PTY sessions, streams output into an xterm interface and supports the user's local CLIs.

02

AI command center

A built-in catalog provides professional templates for development, architecture, research, content and other workflows, with support for custom prompts.

03

Local workspace

Notes, tasks, quick links and research or trading journals are stored locally, support tags and remain available next to the terminal.

04

Read-only crypto market

The application displays price, change, volume, market data and sentiment with fallback states, without connecting wallets or enabling trades.

05

Embedded web tabs

Users open relevant links inside the workspace, while URLs are normalized and restricted to HTTPS.

06

Developer utilities

Tools include JSON formatting, Base64, hashing, password generation, timestamps, regex, color conversion, QR and passive DNS lookup.

Outcome

Outcome

Fox OS turns terminal sessions, AI commands, local records, market observation and everyday utilities into one complete desktop product. Users get a working system with real shell access, local context and explicit safety boundaries rather than a decorative interface.
