BankProxy is a SaaS platform for controlled testing of banking scenarios on a real device. It routes traffic through a VPN, applies allowlisted API-level rewrite rules and displays prepared profiles, cards and operations directly in the mobile application without changing its backend.
Why BankProxy was created
Interface testing and complex banking demonstrations require reproducible data: a specific profile, balance, cards, operations and documents. BankProxy assembles these states in a dedicated workspace and applies them to a connected test device without manually preparing a separate bank backend.
The product serves QA teams, mobile-product engineers and specialists preparing controlled demonstration scenarios. A user configures an isolated synthetic dataset, while administrators manage access, subscriptions, rewrite rules and shared infrastructure.
The platform had to modify several related API responses consistently, preserve realistic links between profiles, accounts and operations, route a mobile device through a controlled network layer and keep different users' scenarios isolated.
We built a separate OpenVPN and mitmproxy data plane with a FastAPI, PostgreSQL and React SaaS control plane. Users receive VPN configuration and a data workspace, rules apply only to allowlisted hosts, and scenario, operation and access changes are managed centrally.
Capabilities
The capabilities support one operating scenario and share common state, control and analytics.
The workspace manages test identity data, contacts, addresses and related attributes that are inserted consistently into API responses.
Users configure card slots, account details, balances and states for reproducible mobile scenarios.
The platform can hide source operations, add synthetic ones, connect them to transactions and work with PDF receipts and statements.
JSONPath and Regex rules are filtered by host, path, method and content type, support priority and can be previewed before use.
The React workspace combines profile, cards, operations, chat and settings, while the Telegram bot delivers magic access, subscription and VPN configuration.
Each user has a dedicated dataset and VPN identity, preventing test profiles and scenarios from crossing boundaries.
Outcome
BankProxy combines synthetic banking-data preparation, delivery to a real test device and access management in one product. QA and demonstration teams gain a reproducible environment where profiles, cards, operations and documents are managed centrally and remain isolated for each user.
